Christyn's 21 birthday trip to Las Vegas 2004

It is a "Right of passage" when a Female Brown Family member reaches the tender young age of 21, a pilgrimage to a small city in Nevada is planned. A hazing by older generations.

In August 2004, Brown Females shared a truly life-changing adventure known as "Vegas 2004".

One thing became clear, this ceremony can and does work in our family culture.

Perhaps the most important teaching received from these three days of ceremonies, is that the rites of passage are an ongoing living process that involves the entire family. It begins long before the actual ceremony and continues long after.

Older family members make a vigorous commitment to guide and structure the changes that occur in our children as they move through adolescence into young adulthood.

In August 2004, such a passage took place.
